How to Identify This Grade
Gold-yellow colour, heavier than it looks for the size. Non-magnetic. Slightly darker yellow than gold. Common in old plumbing fittings.
Check for coatings, paint, or insulation
Test with a magnet — copper is non-magnetic
Look for corrosion or oxidation (green/brown)
Assess whether it's been cleaned or processed

What Lowers the Value
Attached steel or plastic parts, chrome plating, and heavy solder lower the grade. Brass that shows iron on a magnet, or a pinkish, weakened surface (dezincification), is downgraded.
